What it costs

My fees are £80 per hour per person, although you may divide this between you in any way you may agree.  Fees are payable at the end of each session, which will normally last 1½ hours.  While every case differs, mediations dealing solely with matters relating to children usually take two to three sessions.  Where there are financial issues as well, five to six sessions are not uncommon.  There is also a charge for the preparation of summaries, normally at the end of mediation.

You will find that mediation fees are lower than solicitors’ fees and that there will be a substantial costs savings to you by choosing to use mediation rather than go to court.

Please note that mediation is available free of charge to those on lower incomes with limited capital resources.  I offer privately funded mediation only, but if you think that you may be eligible for publicly funded mediation I can put you in touch with other mediators who may be able to help.
